Frequently Asked Questions

Scorpion venom: common questions

The questions our buyers ask most often about the species, product forms, CITES status and shipping documents. If you cannot find the answer you are looking for, write to us.

Scorpion venom is a mixture of proteins and peptides obtained from the venom glands of scorpions. The crude venom we supply is intended solely for research and industrial use, such as pharmaceutical R&D, ion channel studies and analytical reference material. It is not intended for direct use on humans or animals.

Androctonus turkiyensis is Türkiye's own black scorpion species of the family Buthidae, described by Yağmur (2021). Our colony originates from Şanlıurfa; the species is verified by morphological identification and tracked under registration number GBP 1000352242.

No. According to the assessment of the General Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks dated 30.07.2026, Androctonus turkiyensis is not included in CITES Appendices I, II or III. Shipments follow the UN 3462, Class 6.1 transport rules; the import regulations of the destination country are checked separately.

Lyophilized venom is a freeze-dried, white, soluble powder; it is more stable for storage and transport. The liquid form is clear and soluble, with a pH of 3.5. Both forms are stored in the cold chain, and every batch is shipped with its own analysis report.

Every shipment is accompanied by the safety data sheet (SDS / MSDS), the batch analysis report, copies of the establishment permit and business licence, and the shipping and customs file. Copies of the documents can also be requested before ordering.

You can submit a request via the form on the Contact page, stating the product form (powder or liquid), the quantity and the intended use. Institutional buyers receive a quote together with specifications, the analysis report and copies of the documents.
